What is Therapy?
Therapy, also called psychotherapy or counseling, is the process of meeting with a psychologist to resolve problematic behaviors, beliefs, feelings, and/or relationship issues. It involves a dialogue which is limited by confidentiality.

Who comes to therapy?
Generally anyone who may be struggling with difficult feelings, thoughts, behaviors or challenges in relationships. However anyone can benefit from therapy and the process of improved self knowledge and awareness.

How will I know if you are the right therapist for me?
A therapist should make you feel safe and comfortable within the space so as to allow for open sharing. I generally like to use the first two to three sessions to get to know you and use it as a opportunity for you to see if you are comfortable with me and if we will be able able to work together.

How long will it take?
The length of therapy varies greatly depending on the person and the type of difficulties being experienced. Once an assessment has been conducted within the first two to three sessions we will collaboratively decide on a treatment plan, as well as the proposed number and frequency of sessions.

How long is a therapy session?
A therapy session is usually 50 minutes.

What are my fees?
My session fee for 2022 is R950. My fees are in line with the current prescribed medical aid rates.  My fees are payable via EFT and can usually be claimed back from your medical aid, depending on your medical aid plan.

Do you offer online therapy?
As a result of the restrictions in place due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I have moved all my clinical work online and offer online therapy via virtual platforms such as Zoom.
